ABOUT THE ROLE
TransAlta is hiring Wind Turbine Maintenance Technician and Blade Technician Interns in Alberta! No Wind experience or specific trade is required. TransAlta is providing internal technical & safety training.
TransAlta offers a safe work environment, extensive training, a competitive salary, and an opportunity to secure a position as a Wind Technician. Wind Technician Intern positions are a 6-month term to experience and learn about the Wind Technician position. The scholarship is available to successful candidates that are currently studying in Wind Turbine Preventive Maintenance, Electrical, Mechanical, or Blade Repairs programs. Opportunity to extend the position to a longer term.
This position will be located in Pincher Creek / Fort McLeod, Alberta.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
The Technician\'s role is to maintain and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical controllers to operate and maintain wind turbines. There is an opportunity to work on different types of platforms; Siemens, Vestas, GE, Nordex, and NEG Micon.
REQUIREMENTS

• 
  No Wind experience or specific trade is required
• Technical and safety training will be provided
• As this is a safety-sensitive position, successful completion of required pre-employment testing is a condition of employment
