EmpowHERto partners with black and Latina girls and young women from underserved communities between 14-21, empowering them with the necessary tools to thrive and effect positive systemic change.

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Lead Assistant to support our Curriculum Lead for our EmbraceHER Program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for social work and community engagement, with experience in managing programs and youth. Working closely with the Education Curriculum Lead, this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist in the planning and execution of the EmbraceHER program and events, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively. Assist with teen recruitment fostering a positive environment for engagement. Support EmpowHERto efforts by coordinating outreach activities and engaging with potential candidates. Develop content for social media platforms to promote EmbraceHER and increase community awareness. Conduct public speaking engagements to represent the organization at various events and forums. Collaborate with team members to manage projects effectively, ensuring deadlines are met. Maintain organized records of program activities, volunteer hours, and participant feedback.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven experience in program management or related fields, preferably within a social work or nonprofit environment. Excellent public speaking abilities with a knack for engaging diverse audiences. Experience in campus recruitment or similar outreach efforts is a plus. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to fostering positive relationships within the community.
