Bloom by AUE is our wellness stream, designed to support the unique cultural, social, and psychological needs of immigrants, refugees, and equity-deserving groups. Bloom fosters belonging, resilience, and well-being through culturally adapted programming, community connection, and holistic supports.
Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, creative, and highly organized Wellness Coordinator to lead Bloom by AUE during a 13-month maternity leave replacement. This role combines program leadership, community engagement, and facilitation.
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Wellness Coordinator is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Bloom's wellness initiatives - from planning and logistics to community engagement and reporting. You will coordinate facilitators, collaborate with internal teams, deliver and attend programming, and track outcomes for funders. Most importantly, you will create safe, inclusive spaces that promote well-being and belonging for newcomers and communities in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Leadership
Plan, oversee, and deliver Bloom's wellness programming, including arts-based sessions, nature-based therapy, psychoeducational groups, drop-ins, and recreational activities.
Coordinate and support facilitators, ensuring programming is high-quality, culturally adapted, and trauma-informed.
Collaborate with operations, logistics, and marketing teams to ensure smooth delivery and visibility of programming.
Attend activities and events, supporting both participants and facilitators while ensuring program quality.
Community Engagement & Participant Support
Build trust and relationships with participants, fostering belonging and inclusion.
Ensure programming reflects participant needs, cultural contexts, and holistic approaches to well-being.
Establish partnerships with community organizations to expand reach and impact.
Tracking & Reporting
Monitor participation, activities, and outcomes to meet reporting requirements and demonstrate impact to funders.
Document lessons learned and success stories for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., social work, psychology, community health, adult education) OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience coordinating programs, including scheduling, logistics, and reporting.
Strong facilitation and community engagement skills, with the ability to hold safe, inclusive spaces for diverse participants.
Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple activities and priorities simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams.
Creativity, compassion, and adaptability in responding to participant and community needs.
Lived experience as a newcomer, racialized person, or equity-deserving individual is strongly valued.
