We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shop Assistant to support our manufacturing and construction operations. This role involves assisting with various tasks related to assembly, fabrication, and equipment handling within a dynamic work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, familiarity with hand and power tools, and the ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in welding, shearing, operating brake machine and press.

Duties

Assist with assembly, fabrication, including but not limited to Mig welding Operate Shear and Brake Machine (must have experience) Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to ensure accurate assembly and fabrication Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, mig welding machine to perform precise work Support rigging activities and handle crane operations as needed for lifting heavy materials Conduct basic machining tasks including cutting, drilling, and shaping materials Assist with the setup and operation of forklifts for material movement around the worksite Maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to safety standards

Experience

Prior experience in manufacturing shop. Experience in, but not limited to welding (TIG/MIG) Experience with operation of Shear, Brake and Punch machines. Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication processes Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Strong teamwork ethic with excellent communication skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$26.43 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
