Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Welder Helper and general labourer to join our team. In this role, you will assist experienced welders in various tasks related to metal fabrication and assembly as well as some concrete work as needed. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be eager to learn the intricacies of welding processes while contributing to the efficiency and quality of our projects.

Responsibilities

Assist welders in preparing materials for welding, including cutting and shaping metal components. Operate power tools and equipment such as grinders, drills, and saws under supervision. Help with the setup and operation of welding machines, including MIG and TIG welders. Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use. Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team members.

Requirements

Basic understanding of welding techniques and processes is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics and blueprints effectively. Experience using calipers and other measuring tools accurately. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods. A proactive attitude towards safety practices in a manufacturing environment.
