The position of Maintenance Lead under the direction of the Facilities Manager, requires the incumbent to have an energetic approach. Be very comfortable and enjoys working with members of the public, overseeing the general daily maintenance operational tasks of the HOA. The position will oversee general operations of the facilities in the evenings and on the weekends. The Lead will oversee the day to day operations and ensure the team and daily tasks are completed. They will support the team where required and intervene and manage any difficult situations that may arise from the membership. Support the team in performing their job roles with the objective of better serving the community

Job Duties



Work with management to carry out maintenance operations such as:

Perform ice installation/removal and maintenance including operation of the ice maintenance equipment and the ice re-surfacer in accordance with established procedures/practices and health and safety procedures; Monitor ice conditions, lake and building systems and record readings; Patrol building to check for problems, safety hazards or improper operation of facility and equipment; Ensure corrective action and/or escalate issues as required; Provide excellent customer service to all users/visitors to the facility by answering questions, resolve issues and document incidents as required; Perform monthly preventative maintenance program checks to emergency fire equipment to ensure safe operating parameters; Complete maintenance inventory counts and compile supply orders for approval; Regularly monitor and clean facilities including; change rooms, washrooms, viewing areas and foyers; Maintain the quality of the beach and lake, this includes operating the motor boat , RTV ice resurfacer and its implements. Provide facility monitoring/set-up/take-down services for special events and large scale recreational programs such as public skating, trade shows, Sport Programs, tournaments, shows etc.; Perform winter maintenance duties such as snow removal, salting and sanding outdoor entrances and exits surrounding the facility Perform summer maintenance duties such as sand raking, general cleaning and maintenance operations Perform lake water management processes such as water testing and water quality management tasks. Meet with management to update on day to day operations of the facilities and parks Assist management in overseeing team member schedule, monitoring overtime Provide first aid and follow-up as required Assist in special events as required Enforce procedures, policies and regulations and guidelines as approved by the MHOA Board of Directors Report safety, equipment, patron or staff concerns to management as needed Other duties and responsibilities as assigned Perform and oversee overall facility maintenance; Report maintenance issues and repairs required. Supervision and overseeing of the facilities and parks when management isn't available. Participate in the development of policies and procedures; Participate and enforce the implementation of approved policies and procedures; Perform the more complex and technical tasks assigned to the work unit including lake aerators and geothermal heating/cooling units with the support or recommended contractors; Respond to inquiries from the public, and investigate complaints; Monitor and maintain lake levels and lake water quality including adherence to AHS Testing requirements and the lake water quality program

Job Requirements



Preference to High School Graduation and some postsecondary education Experience in general facility and park maintenance and operations Ability to engage and share and impart knowledge of programs to participants Awareness of safety codes; Ability to motivate and mentor others within work team Upon hire, completion of Mahogany HOA First Aid certification Work effectively with all population demographics Knowledge of minor plumbing, electrical and carpentry repairs that do not require licensed professionals; Operate and maintain a variety of maintenance equipment; Preference for Computer skills related to proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.); Able to multi-task and prioritize in a busy environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Able to demonstrate time management skills Will require a vulnerable sector check Drivers license Confident and experienced in customer service Has the ability to managed and work through conflict resolution Naturally enjoys working with people

Work Conditions



Weekday, weekend and evening work An outdoor environment - appropriate clothing for various weather conditions is required Flexible schedule required Overtime is limited but may be required Interaction with employees, management and the public at large Physical requirements related to this position included, but are not limited to the ability to endure long periods of walking and standing, the capability to lift, carry, push and/or pull heavy amounts of weight (up to 50lbs) Position will require the operation of equipment and small vehicles Comfortable with multi-tasking in a busy environment

Pay: From $54,000.00 per year
