Job Description

We are looking for 1-2 Personal Support Workers to assist a male employer who is non-verbal and in the end stage of ALS with all activities of daily living.

The successful candidates will have complex care experience, understand ALS and have ventilator experience.

Richmond (Near Russel Sean Fitness)

Shifts & Hours of Work:

Fulltime position available: Weekends (day and night shift) 2 shifts 8:00am - 6:00pm & 3:30pm or 4:00pm to 11:30pm Weekdays (Day and Evening Shift) 3 or 4 shifts 7:00am - 2:15pm, 1:00pm - 5:00pm, 4:00pm - 11:30pm Weekdays (Overnight Shift) 3 shifts 11:15pm - 7:15am (awake shift)

Compensation:

$26.25 an hour for training $27.00 an hour after training

Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to):

Daily personal care such as showering, and dressing Ceiling lift and sling lift transfers Tracheostomy care, ventilation as the employer is on a ventilator 24/7, cough assist, G-tube feeding and medication administration Use of manual chair Light house keeping duties such as laundry

Required Qualifications:

Ventilator experience

Complex care experience

Non-smoking Wearing a mask Yearly Flu shot and Covid vaccines First Aid Certificate Caregiving experience Prop course and training Comfortable working in an environment with dogs

Preferred Qualifications:

Health Care Certificate Valid Canadian Driver's license (Class 5, 7N, ect) Experience with lifts (Ceiling lift and Sling)
