Job Requirements

  • Progressive experience working with big data environments with a solid understanding of how analytics is applied to real-world business problems
  • Demonstrated experience in data investigation and compilation with multiple data sources using analytics techniques, machine learning principles and data modeling
  • Strong SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries
  • Proficiency in MS Excel with knowledge of pivot tables, vlookup, conditional formulas and other advanced functions
  • Good knowledge of statistics applied to business and analytics, with experience of data mining and data manipulation using Alteryx
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, QlikView, Power BI
  • Knowledge of Wealth Management/ Investments/ Finance industry (strong asset)
  • Experience with process mapping and data flow mapping, using BPMN notation and/or tools such as Visio, and Bizagi (asset)
  • Strong problem solving, quantitative and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrated experience performing presentations with data, simplifying the message for all audiences and converting it in business insights
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively in a team environment.
  • 3-5 years\' experience in analytics position, in contact with analytics streams such as: data retrieval, data manipulation, data analysis and data visualization

As part of the Operations Client Reporting team, the Data Validation Senior Analyst will report to Manager, Data Validation, and will be responsible for supporting the development of a data validation framework for client reporting. This role is responsible for ensuring the integrity and quality of data, by drawing data validation strategies and meaningful insights from structured and unstructured data. The candidate will possess data analytics experience with strong background in governance and standards on data management and will be expected to collaborate with key partners to build a modern and functional data assurance framework.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Define data requirements and business rules to implement a robust data validation framework
  • Perform analysis to identify patterns/outliers and root cause on internal data
  • Create prototypes, run design testing and develop automated tests to validate data sets
  • Track accuracy, completeness and integrity of up-stream and down-stream data across various business systems as they are managed in our enterprise systems
  • Support and implement data quality standardization by understanding how data is structured, designed, and/or accessed and consumed
  • Create test plans & test cases from user stories, use cases & other requirements documents
  • Participate in all levels of project testing including usability, integration, system performance and user acceptance
  • Participate in the development and maintenance of dashboards to manage the implemented data controls and validations
  • Document business and technical requirements surrounding the data validation processes
  • Participate in projects supporting a broad range of data driven solutions by applying variety of techniques used at TD
