We have an immediate opportunity for a Water Market & Capture Strategy Leader to join our growing organization. This position can be based in most GHD office locations in Canada or the U.S. GHD supports a hybrid work model.

The Water Market & Capture Strategy Leader will support our Water market and play a critical role in aligning strategic market growth objectives with executable programs centered around Growth, Client Experience and Winning Work through compelling business intelligence, a strong culture of accountability and connection between various stakeholder groups at GHD. This will include discovery and qualification efforts for long lead priority pursuits, and the mobilization of Winning Work teams in collaboration with Market Leadership.

The Water Market & Capture Strategy Leader will provide focused support on the growth of GHD's external industry awareness and strengthening GHD's internal go-to-market, key client and capture activities necessary to grow our business.

Key areas of responsibilities include:

Growth Strategy:

  • Support strategic planning efforts of North American Water Market Leads and stakeholders
  • With National Market Leaders, assist in identification of strategic pursuits that support the overall market growth strategy
  • Hold regular reviews of the strategic pursuit list to keep the list maintained and current
  • Support Market Leaders in driving a culture of accountability for strategic growth
Client Experience:
  • Support Client Experience (CX) programs and identify activities North American Market Leads, Regional Market Leaders and Service Line Leaders (SLLs) that support the capture of strategic pursuits
  • Provide coaching and support to Relationship Managers, in conjunction with the global CX program, to drive a culture of growth and accountability in performance
  • Work with National Market Leaders to perform Client Care Visits for key clients
Winning Work:
  • Lead Market effort to review proposed CIPs and major spending programs. Assess GHD's ability to pursue, win and execute projects and, working with Market Leads, BGLs and stakeholders (i.e., Capture) to prioritize clients and opportunities
  • Maintain a list of "top 20 must wins" and update CRM records to identify and qualify long-lead priority pursuits and lead Capture efforts to enable the dissemination of critical success factors like client and competitive intel, market analysis and teaming strategies
  • Maintain a current understanding of live and pending opportunities (inc. all unsolicited, sole select and advertised / competitive opportunities e.g., RFPs, tenders), win/loss register, and lessons learned etc. ensuring the pipeline is up to date for accurate reporting
  • Maintain an active pipeline of strategic pursuits consisting of the following:
  • At any one time 1-4 strategic pursuits are responding to active RFP
  • 3-4 pursuits are ready for RFP release (75% of required material for the RFP response completed
  • 8-12 strategic pursuits in pre-positioning (actively developing content), and
  • 15+ opportunities being qualified as potential additions to the strategic pursuit list
  • Delivery of strategic capture activity to support Opportunity Owners, and identifying and connecting global capabilities to maximize GHD's position to win and working with PLs during the proposal process
Required skills and experience include:
  • Undergraduate degree in business or related field
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in all phases of business development from opportunity validation to capture and client account management
  • Proven ability to successfully manage complex business captures and provide advance guidance for complex scope crossing multiple market sectors and regions
  • Experience with similar A/E/C firms preferred
  • Consistent personal ethics: integrity, dependability, initiative, and quality
