Looking for a new and exciting job opportunity? We are looking for a Warranty Administrator on a temporary basis to join our team!
What You Will Do
--------------------
• You will report to the Supervisor - Warranty, and you will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative duties relating to the identification, collection and processing of warranty parts and claims ensuring that TTC submits and obtain full compensation for new vehicle (buses, Wheel-Trans vehicles, streetcars, non-revenue vehicles) and other component warranty claims and latent defect retrofits and other component warranty claims and latent defect retrofits.
• You will review new vehicle contract clauses relating to warranty to ensure TTC process and administration requirements are considered.
• You will ensure suppliers comply with established warranty procedures.
• You will organize and receive parts from the Garages, Carhouses and Shops for warranty claims.
• You will arrange for the shipment of parts to the manufacturers or OEMs through the Materials and Procurement Department.
• You will liaise with the OEM, in accordance with the warranty claim process, for providing/obtaining required information, and following up on claim backlogs or approved disposals of parts.
• You will also liaise with the section's Engineering Technologists, providing part information (e.g. serial number, purchase/repair date) to assist with technical or labour charge disputes relating to warranty claims.
• Additionally, you will advise the section's Engineering Technologists when warranty claims for parts reach the latent defect warranty criteria and assisting in the preparation and submission of such claims.
• You will maintain the database(s) and extracting/generating information reports on a timely basis.
• You will utilize the Vehicle Work Order System (IFS/VWO), the Materials Management System (MMS), and section database records detail to compile information such as part identification number, description, purchase date, repair history, costs, etc., used for completing claim forms, providing research assistance to section personnel, etc.
• You will review IFS/VWO maintenance records in detail for identification of components under warranty and opportunities where labour only claims should be submitted.
• You will communicate warranty details and processes to shop, carhouse and garage personnel, and responding to questions/inquiries, etc.

What Qualifications Do You Bring

• Your education will consist of a completed college diploma or university degree in a related discipline or combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
• Your application will reveal strong knowledge of concepts and practices of warranty claim management.
• Your application will also reveal demonstrated ability to generally identify transit parts and utilize resources such as manuals, CDs, etc.
• Your application will reveal excellent office administrative skills, with proficiency in the use of computers and computer applications (MS Office, mainframe).
• You must be able to organize and prioritize several work assignments simultaneously and meet critical time requirements, working independently and with minimal supervision.
• Your application will also reveal knowledge of transit vehicle and OEM systems and components and their function as well as garage, carhouse and shop procedures and terminology.
• You must have or quickly acquire working knowledge of TTC computer mainframe systems such as IFS/VWO, MMS and other databases utilized by the section.
• Your application will also reveal familiarity with Materials and Procurement Department shipping procedures.
• Additional knowledge of Cummins Rapidserve and Cummins Quick Serve Online QSOL is an asset.
• Possession of a valid Truck & Coach certification (310-T), Automotive Service Technician certification (310-S) and CZ license is an asset.
• Possession of a Class "G" Driver's license for the Province of Ontario and access to a vehicle is an asset.
