We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Warehouse Manager to join our team in Stoney Creek, ON and contribute to the success of our organization. Reporting to the Regional General Manager, the Warehouse Manager is accountable for tracking multiple facets of the warehouse and is responsible for managing the operations of a high-functioning warehouse by streamlining all warehouse activities to drive overall profitability and customer satisfaction. Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations:


  • Manages the daily activities of the warehouse including shipping, receiving, pick/pack, hardware, door pre-hang, quality assurance, inventory control, floor productivity, and purchasing.
  • Ensures the warehouse operates at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal, by managing, directing, planning, coordinating, warehouse employees.
  • Responsible for meeting the delivery schedule filled by the Sales Operations Manager.
  • Maps the daily delivery route for Riverside driver?s ensuring cost and time effectiveness.
  • Logs and tracks backorders and respective reporting.
  • Schedules backorder deliveries.
  • Ensures adequate inventory to fill sales orders liaising with Sales Operations Manager when inventory is deficient.
  • Accountable for accurate and timely pick/pack of orders and coordinating the team in loading of trucks in compliance with delivery schedule.
  • Oversees and manages logistics utilized to transport materials to customers and internal facilities, communicating with drivers and coordination with site to ensure efficient deliveries.
  • Responsible for maintaining delivery truck service and maintenance schedules including, but not limited to, preventative maintenance, and regular interior/exterior upkeep.
  • Accountable for vehicle inspections and required documentation to be completed daily.
  • Provide input and assist in developing warehouse operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilization, and inventory management.
  • Prepare and maintain warehouse operation reports.
  • Assists in establishing departmental policies and procedures in relation to shipping, receiving, pick/pack, hardware, door pre-hang, quality assurance, inventory control, floor productivity, and purchasing.
  • Assists in establishing warehouse operation KPI?s and is accountable for ensuring KPI?s are met.
  • Assesses, mitigates, and reports all warehouse operation issues, ensuring resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Participates in the strategic planning related to warehouse floor organization, equipment space allocation, etc. to ensure warehouse operation is efficient and effective.
  • Identifies and makes suggestions for improvement within department on an ongoing basis.
  • Performs ad-hoc projects as directed by the Regional General Manager.

Management:

  • Establishing, monitoring, and managing warehouse targets.
  • Meet regularly with warehouse leads to review, analyze, and develop actionable plans for productivity.
  • Train and manage department personnel to solve day-to-day warehouse operation issues and reach performance standards/goals.
  • Responsible for the performance management of department staff including, but not limited to, annual performance reviews, performance standards, and warehouse operations targets.
  • Participates in the recruitment process with Human Resources for hiring new department personnel.
  • Participates in monthly manager?s meeting.
  • Participates in ongoing training and leadership development initiatives and programs.
  • Complies and enforces all Company policies and procedures.



Fiscal Responsibility:


  • Identifies and implements cost controls for operating and departmental expenditures in compliance with Riverside?s policies and procedures.
  • Participates in the preparation of the warehouse fiscal budget.
  • Accountable for meeting the fiscal budget.



Health and Safety:


  • Accountable for the implementation and enforcement of safety and preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensures that safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Maintains a clean and tidy warehouse.
  • Oversees training of departmental employees on safety processes and procedures relating to warehouse operations.
  • Works with Human Resources near-miss / accident reporting and supports Riverside?s early and safe return to work program.
  • Actively participates in the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

Job Specifications:
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in supply chain management, logistics, or relevant program.
  • Health & Safety Courses/Training: WHMIS, Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness Training (HSAT), Basic Supervisory Training.
  • 5+ years? warehouse experience in a lead capacity.
  • 5+ years? managerial experience with personnel responsibilities.
  • Previous industry related experience in construction, carpentry, trim, manufacturing considered an asset.
  • Valid G Driver?s License.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for moving goods by road, including the relative costs and benefits.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices including the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of office administration and clerical practices and procedures.
