About the Role:
The Warehouse & Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics functions. This includes managing the flow of materials, supplies, and finished goods within the facility and coordinating all inbound and outbound shipments to vendors and clients. The role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance in all warehouse and transportation activities while maintaining safety, organization, and accountability throughout the facility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with proven experience in warehouse management, logistics coordination, and process improvement within a manufacturing environment, and is comfortable operating a forklift when needed to support team operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, picking, packing, and shipping.
Manage all inbound and outbound shipments (LTL, FTL, courier, and parcel).
Supervise and develop warehouse and small-package teams, ensuring productivity, accuracy, and safety compliance.
Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment as required to maintain workflow and assist team members.
Plan and coordinate material flow to align with production schedules and customer delivery timelines.
Maintain and optimize warehouse layout and organization to maximize efficiency and space utilization.
Prepare and issue waybills, bills of lading, commercial invoices, and related domestic and international documentation.
Verify and reconcile shipping and receiving records to ensure alignment with purchase and sales orders.
Inspect loading and unloading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications and safety standards.
Manage logistics provider relationships, including rate negotiations, performance tracking, and issue resolution.
Collaborate with Production, Purchasing, and Sales teams to align priorities and coordinate material and order flow.
Lead, train, and evaluate warehouse staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
Maintain accurate inventory, shipping, and receiving documentation, and track warehouse KPIs.
Manage coordination and communication with specific external vendors to support operational needs.
Enforce company safety policies and compliance with WHMIS and forklift operation standards.
Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications & Skills:
Education & Experience:
Post-secondary degree or diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations (preferred).
Minimum 5 years of warehouse and logistics experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Minimum 2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Technical Skills:
Valid forklift license/certification required and ability to safely operate material-handling equipment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems (experience with Sage or similar preferred).
Knowledge of domestic and international shipping documentation and regulations.

Health & Safety or Lean/Continuous Improvement training is an asset.
