Position Summary



We are seeking a proactive and experienced

Warehouse and Logistics Manager

to lead the operations of our high-traffic distribution center. This role plays a key part in ensuring the efficient flow of materials from international suppliers to our local warehouse and onto job sites. With more than 100 containers expected over a six-month period, the ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in import/export logistics, customs clearance, forklift operation, and site delivery coordination. A strong understanding of safety protocols and rigging practices is also critical to success in this role.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse & Distribution Operations



Manage daily operations of the warehouse including receiving, organizing, tagging, and dispatching materials. Operate a forklift daily for unloading containers, staging materials, and loading trucks (

forklift certification required

). Oversee warehouse renovation and setup including infrastructure and equipment improvements. Track and manage deliveries for high-volume inbound containers (100+ within 6 months). Maintain documentation for warehouse operations including but not limited to scheduling, receiving notes, packing lists, inventory documentation, inventory maps, and in/out records. Implement tool tracking systems and stock controls for deliveries and usage.

Import/Export & Customs Logistics



Handle import/export documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, and HS codes. Coordinate customs clearance with freight forwarders and ensure compliance with CBSA and CFIA regulations. Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.

Trucking & Delivery Coordination



Arrange and supervise delivery schedules from warehouse to job sites. Manage company and contract drivers, dispatching and routing efficiently. Ensure materials are loaded based on site priorities and access windows.

Site Delivery & Rigging Support



Work with site coordinators to align deliveries with crane schedules and access constraints. Ensure racks meet load capacity and implement safe rigging methods including sling locations, ratchets, and strapping. Support delivery documentation and on-site handling protocols.

Safety & Training



Ensure compliance with WorkSafeBC safety standards. Conduct safety training for warehouse staff and drivers, including rigging, lifting, and equipment use. Maintain safe loading/unloading zones and enforce PPE requirements.

Asset Management



Oversee procurement and maintenance of warehouse equipment including forklifts, trucks, and tools. Implement tagging, logging, and tracking systems for tools and assets.

Qualifications



Minimum 5 years of warehouse and logistics management experience in construction or building materials industry. Proven experience operating a forklift (

forklift certification is mandatory

). Experience managing high-volume distribution centers and coordinating container traffic. In-depth understanding of customs clearance, import/export logistics, and documentation. Experience with trucking logistics, driver scheduling, and dispatch. Knowledge of site delivery logistics including rigging, hoisting, and material handling. Strong leadership and communication skills. Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License.

Preferred Skills



Familiarity with Procore, Fieldwire, or warehouse tracking software. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
