Purpose: ALX is a rapidly growing manufacturer and supplier of bulk industrial goods to the mining, exploration and construction industries. This position provides logistical, administrative, and warehouse support to ALX senior management. This individual will be responsible for the overall maintenance, management, efficiency, and improvement of the ALX warehouse and property. We are looking for a highly motivated self-starter and committed individual who will provide organization and leadership to ALX?s shop and warehouse facilities. This individual should be interested in working in a hands-on fashion and willing to provide support across various tasks and day-to-day operations. Duties & Responsibilities Under the direction of senior management, the Warehouse Coordinator will perform the following:
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the administrative functions in the office:
    • Answering the ALX general line and directing inquiries
    • Setting up new vendors & customers
    • Reviewing & submitting weekly supply RFQ?s from customers
    • Providing administrative support to ALX management
  • Ensure ALX warehouse and property is continually achieving the highest level of organization and operationalization by:
    • Overseeing and conducting high quality building, property, and equipment maintenance
    • Maintaining organization and cleanliness of yard and warehouse facilities
    • Creating warehouse checklists and ensuring their fulfillment
  • Providing exceptional customer service in all dealings with potential and current customers
  • Managing sales, orders, services, purchases, receiving, and follow-up to ensure complete customer satisfaction
  • Independently working with suppliers & customers daily to receive and offer the highest level of service
  • Maintaining accurate inventory controls and reports
  • Managing and conducting warehouse operations including shipping and receiving, loading and unloading freight, and pickups and deliveries
  • Providing logistical oversight and efficiency to all operations ALX conducts
  • Maintaining consistent and effective communication within all areas of operation including customers, suppliers, and management
Education, Knowledge and Skills Post secondary education in business administration, management, or a related field or trades training in mining, exploration, or related field. Applicants with a minimum of 2 years job experience in a similar position or work environment are preferred. Significant preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and take initiative, and with parts and product knowledge. Effective communication & organizational skills is also a critical component of this position. Along with education and work experience the applicant should:
  • Have strong personal suitability with exceptional customer service skills including ability to up sell & contribute to business growth
  • Have well developed organizational skills and the ability to multitask
  • Value a high degree of cleanliness throughout all work-spaces
  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently and be self-motivated

  • Have proven decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail
  • Have highly effective communication skills, both verbal and written as well as good listening skills
  • Have proficiency in computer skills including the use of spreadsheets, word processing programs, and the willingness to learn CRM, cloud based & inventory systems
  • Be able to or willing to learn to operate equipment such as forklifts & loader
Equivalency: Completion of high school, combined with more than 5 years of practical work experience in a related position, along with the above-mentioned demonstrated abilities. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office and warehouse environment, along with potential trips to job sites in Whitehorse and offsite job and camp locations. While the job duties apply equally, the working conditions dictate frequent shifting of priorities and activities on a routine basis. The incumbent will work a forty hour work week at a minimum with longer hours required during peak times. Hours may vary seasonally and include an increased workload during the summer and over project timelines.
