About the role

OceanaGold are seeking a suitably qualified and highly motivated Vice President Treasury to lead and execute group capital management plans, encompassing internal and external funding, interest rate and FX risk management strategies, cash management, liquidity risk management, loan covenant compliance and insurance.

Based in Vancouver and reporting direct to the Chief Financial Officer, your strong team orientation and willingness to assist others across the group on a proactive basis, together with a \xe2\x80\x9cCompany first\xe2\x80\x9d mindset, will consolidate your status as a key member of the Group Finance Leadership Team and ultimately ensure your success within this this challenging and highly rewarding strategic appointment.

Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Coaching, mentoring and leadership of direct reports and other group finance personnel.
  • Execution of treasury and cash management consistent with approved capital management planning.
  • Mitigation of group interest rate and FX risks and the overall management of the corporate transactional banking relationships.
  • Management of the group debt facilities, lender relationships, covenant compliance, and reporting.
  • Management of Group major equipment leasing relationships and related lease facilities.
  • Management of the rehabilitation bonding requirements and other corporate guaranties.
  • Cash management and forecasting as well as liquidity risk management, including evaluation and recommendations on hedging strategies.
  • Providing financial risk advice and input into enterprise and site risk management thinking.
  • Supporting the business development team in evaluating M&A opportunities as applicable (due diligence and integration).
  • Leading and supporting the Finance team as required in all aspects related to valuation modelling including discussions with financiers and auditors.
  • Assist with maintaining and continually improving OceanaGold\xe2\x80\x99s business valuation models.
  • Undertake industry and market research including specific markets, key industry developments, broker reports and other research requests as it pertains to financial market and corporate finance risk.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation, rules and regulations related to financial disclosure as it relates to financing arrangements.
  • Maintaining relevant financial records for Management, Board of Directors, and External Stakeholders.
  • Management of group metal sales.
Qualifications

About you
  • 15 years of demonstrated experience in managing systems and processes for cash management and all internal and external funding arrangements.
  • Experience engaging with external service providers and evaluating proposals/structures.
  • Experience at formulating and then executing the capital and financial risk management plans.
  • Proven Commercial acumen.
  • Collaborative working style together with the ability to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work harmoniously and sensitively in cross-cultural environments.
  • Strong personal presence and develop trusting relationships with senior managers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Desired Outcomes

During the first year in the role, it is expected you will:
  • Understand OGC\xe2\x80\x99s corporate strategy and vision and how the Business Development Function contributes to the delivery of that strategy.
  • Develop a short list of targeted projects capable of hosting OceanaGold\xe2\x80\x99s future discoveries.
  • Assist to secure one or more projects through 3rd party commercial agreement.
