Position: Vice President, Finance
Location: North Vancouver, British Colombia
Status: Full-time, permanent, On-site
Reports to: Group Chief Financial Officer

Summary
A key member of the Canadian executive team, leading all aspects associated with the finance function for all the ALS businesses in Canada. Expected to lead finance transformation processes, including executing a planned banking transition, rolling out a new global ERP in the region, and building a strong finance team to support the business.
The Vice President, of Finance, is also a key partner to business leaders, supporting them in the understanding and measurement of business drivers through KPI implementation, and in financial planning and analysis (budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning).

Responsibilities

  • Providing support to Canadian business leaders and Group CFO, as required including proactive financial analysis to help manage the business by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and drive/track strategic initiatives.
  • Managing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting of Canadian operations.
  • Driving the financial planning analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Overseeing the operations of all finance functions, including the design of an organizational structure and robust process and controls implementation in Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable, and Tax areas.
  • Leading and managing the month-end closing process for the business units in the region.
  • Coordinating all work and interaction with external auditors for half-year review and annual audit processes.
  • Leading credit and collection management processes for the business, driving continuous improvement in cash generation.
  • Complying with local, provincial, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Managing financial and banking systems and related policies and procedures.
  • Managing global transfer pricing coordination for ALS Geochemistry.
  • Maintaining corporate minute books and coordinating finance-related interactions with internal and external legal teams.
Qualifications
  • MBA or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Accounting or Finance, and current CPA designation
  • 15+ years of finance and accounting experience in a high-volume industrial or business services environment, including 10+ years in a management role.
  • Work experience in a leadership position in the implementation of ERP projects (functional lead or finance manager as part of ERP implementation project).
