Job Description


We are looking for a professional & reliable Director of Construction to plan construction projects and oversee their progress along the way in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will be responsible for budgeting, organization, implementation, and scheduling of the projects. As a Director of Construction, your responsibilities may include the following:

  • Planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating construction projects from conception to completion according to schedule, specifications, and budget
  • Preparing and submitting construction project budget estimates
  • Planning and preparing construction schedules, deliverables, and milestones, and monitoring progress against established schedules
  • Meet contractual conditions of performance
  • Negotiating and drafting contracts, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Developing and implementing quality control programs
  • Representing your company on matters such as business services and union contracts negotiation
  • Review the work progress
  • Plan ahead to prevent problems and resolve any emerging ones
  • Preparing progress reports and issuing progress schedules to clients
  • Obtain permits and licences in a timely manner
  • Directing the purchase of building materials, selecting tools, materials, and equipment, and tracking inventory
  • Hiring and supervising the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff
  • Overseeing all onsite and offsite constructions to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations, ensure quality construction standards and the use of proper construction techniques
  • Coordinate and direct construction workers and subcontractors
  • Analyze, manage and mitigate risks
Requirements
  • Proven working experience in construction management
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means, and methods
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards
  • Understanding of all facets of the construction process
  • Familiarity with construction management software packages
  • Ability to plan and see the \xe2\x80\x9cbig picture\xe2\x80\x9d
  • Competent in conflict and crisis management
  • Leadership and human resources management skills
  • Excellent time and project management skills
  • BS degree in construction management, architecture, engineering, or related field
  • P.Eng. designation preferred
Job Type: Full-time Salary: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year Benefits:
