Volunteer LAHM HR Coordinator - 20 h/week



Start and end dates: September 22th - November 7th, 2025

About the Role:



The Human Resources Coordinator provides support for the

Latin American Heritage Month (LAHM)

in BC, a series of interactive events that includes a combination of artists' performances, art exhibitions, online workshops, and events to commemorate the rich and fascinating Latin American heritage and its influence in BC and Canada.

Job Summary and Key Responsibilities



Recruiting volunteers for LAHM events, communicating with them, sending emails, and calling. Prepare Onboarding of new volunteers for LAHM with assistance from HR (providing instructions, setting up Onboarding sessions, tracking the Onboarding process). Assign responsibilities to volunteers, assigning the right people for each event, and produce schedules for everyday activities. Coordinate teams of volunteers for large-scale actions. Communicate with volunteers to ensure they are satisfied and well-placed. Keep detailed records of volunteers' information and assignments Distributing volunteer handbooks and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable employment laws. Handle employee relations matters, such as addressing LAHM volunteer queries and providing general support to LAHM volunteers regarding HR-related issues. Providing general administrative support to the HR department, such as maintaining files, organizing meetings, drafting correspondence, and handling HR-related inquiries. Offboarding of LAHM volunteers (prepare Certification letter).

Requirements and Skills:



Diploma, certificate, or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration/or a related field (Preferred) A minimum of 20 hours per week and weekend availability for the duration of the event. Intermediate to Advanced Spanish and English level, written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively. Strong confidentiality, and accountability. Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) plus other programs. Ability to be flexible, organized, and detail-oriented. Ability to work effectively, independently, and in collaboration with others. Strong attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Effective time management.
