Job Description

Do you have a passion for fundraising and community-building? CANAAF is seeking a dedicated and creative volunteer to join our Board of Directors with a focus on

fundraising strategy, donor engagement, and donor appreciation

. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys planning campaigns, connecting with supporters, and helping a grassroots charity grow its reach and impact.

As a Board Member, you'll lead fundraising initiatives in collaboration with the rest of the Board and support staff. You will play a key role in strengthening CANAAF's financial sustainability and donor relationships, including increasing the number of

active and repeat donors

.

Duties and Responsibilities:



Develop CANAAF's annual fundraising plan in alignment with the organization's budget and goals Plan and implement fundraising campaigns and initiatives, including annual giving drives and community events Grow and maintain an active donor list, and lead efforts to recognize and appreciate donors to encourage repeat giving Recruit sponsors, participants, and volunteers for fundraising events Supervise and support community fundraisers Collaborate with the Administrative Assistant and Public Relations Director to design and share promotional materials such as social media posts, e-newsletters, and event announcements Create and maintain donor databases and track contributions Attend monthly virtual Board meetings via Zoom and report on fundraising activities and outcomes Work with the Board to help plan and coordinate the annual CANAAF National Summer Conference Attend the annual summer conference in the Greater Toronto Area

Qualifications and Requirements:



Minimum 1 year of experience in organizational or nonprofit fundraising Strong communication and interpersonal skills Self-motivated with a proactive and creative approach Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable working within a defined budget Excellent computer and digital communication skills Familiarity with CanadaHelps fundraising platform Personal or family connection to alopecia areata is highly valued Commitment to CANAAF's mandate and policies
