Volunteer Event ManagerRefood Food Rescue Foundation - VancouverAbout Refood:Based on the report by the BC Center for Disease Control (BCCDC) about one in nine households (11.8%) in British Columbia could be considered food insecure.Refood Food Rescue Foundation is a non-profit social enterprise that responds to this issue by reducing food waste, re-purposing ugly foods, and re-educating the public about food.By partnering with grocers and local non-profit organizations we serve at-risk populations with surplus food that otherwise would have gone to waste. • Experience as Event Organizer

• Knowledge of KPIs and marketing techniques for event management

• Proficient in MS Office

• Outstanding communication and negotiation ability

• Excellent organizational skills

• Customer-service orientation

• A team player with leadership and problem-solving skills

Deliverables

• Develop an event concept and overall plan, working closely with an internal or external client

• Planning, designing, promotion and overall coordination of the event.

• Work directly with partners to negotiate contracts for various services and products related to the event

• Develop an overall budget as well as category-specific budgets for certain elements of the event, such as food and venue rental, identifying opportunities to cut down costs or reallocate funds to ensure that the project stays on budget

• The primary point of contact for organizers and clients and are responsible for answering questions and resolving issues that arise over the course of the event

• Come up with suggestions to enhance the event's success
