The Cerebral Palsy Association of BC (CPABC) is an independent charitable organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. We provide recreation programs, support, education and information to people living with cerebral palsy in British Columbia.

CPABC is looking for an Instructor to facilitate the virtual Movement Therapy program.

Candidate must live in British Columbia to apply for this position.

We are seeking an individual who has experience working with adapting exercises for individuals with physical disabilities and other accommodation needs.
1-class per week - Starting ASAP
Wednesday evening, 5-6 pm, Virtually through Zoom

Our Movement Therapy class is an online program provided free of charge to youth and adults with cerebral palsy. We are seeking a skilled instructor to lead these weekly sessions.

Job Title: Movement Therapy Instructor - virtual

Job Summary: Develop and deliver an adapted movement therapy program for youth and adults with disabilities in a safe, inclusive environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Plan 1 hour of movement-based activities designed for a mixed abilities groups on a regular, weekly basis
- Adapt the class as needed, ensure that participants are working different muscle groups in challenging, positive ways while having fun
- Be present at all classes for this program, or ensure that a qualified Instructor is present. CPABC will need to be notified two weeks in advance of this taking place, or, in the case of an illness, as early as possible.
- Take attendance, and gather consent forms in the event the supporting staff and volunteers are not available
- Ensure that all safety standards are met for any activities including in the program
- Keep CPABC informed as to the status of the course and any suggestions for course changes.

Job Type: Freelance

Pay: $50.00 per hour
