CoSA VFX is an award-winning, fast-paced and highly collaborative Visual Effects studio with locations in Los Angeles, Vancouver and Atlanta. We are seeking an experienced Virtual Art Department Supervisor for current and upcoming projects. The idle candidate will have a necessary and complete understanding of the VAD workflow along with past experience being on a LED Volume stage to be aware of all aspects needed for a project and the goals to be achieved. The focus of this role will be delivering complex projects to clients and communicating clearly with team members while working in a fast-paced environment. While this is a remote role, artists in British Columbia and Ontario will be given preference. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate closely with VAD Lead, VFX Supervisor, Producers, artists, and other team members in creating high quality, photo real visual effects,3 D Assets, and Virtual Environments inside the Unreal Engine for use in Virtual Productions for Film, commercials and Episodic Television.
  • Delivering complex projects to clients and communicating clearly with team members while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with department heads to develop and refine the VAD studio pipeline
  • Mentor artists and set expectations
  • Maintain an awareness of timelines and delivery dates
  • Work \xe2\x80\x98on the box\xe2\x80\x99 when needed
  • Oversee VAD Lead and team to ensure they have appropriate direction
REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4+ years of professional game production or Virtual Art Department experience in a Lead or Supervisor role
  • A proven record and experience working in a leadership role in Commercials/Film/TV
  • A commitment to team leadership, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Expert knowledge of Unreal Engine
  • Advanced knowledge of Maya or equivalent
  • Expertise in the areas of Lighting, Layout, Sequencer Animation, and Rendering
  • Expert knowledge and experience optimizing assets and environments for Unreal Engine
  • Understanding of Rigging characters, Props, and Vehicles in Maya and translation of that data into Unreal
  • Proficiency in creating tools and blueprints for Unreal
  • Advanced knowledge of Source Control/Perforce
  • Experience in VFX pipelines and workflow
  • Working knowledge of Shotgrid
PREFERRED:
  • Experience with CVar cmds for environment optimization, troubleshooting, and activation of less exposed engine features
  • Knowledge of UI Development for Tools (WPF, WinForms, XAML, QT)
  • Experience using Unity on projects
  • Capable of VA project bidding
  • Python scripting knowledge
