Reporting to the SCSV Board of Directors, the Village Director is responsible for the successful leadership of the Saskatoon Community Service Village consistent with its mission and vision. This is a multi-faceted role that is responsible for general operations, financial management, communications, and collaborates with the CEOs/Executive Directors of the Village member agencies. Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the general operations and daily management of the Village.
2. Manages the Village finances, including budget preparation and management, handling invoicing and receipts, approving expenditures, assisting with audit, and managing the financial obligations of the organization. Operates within the approved budget and within financial guidelines and policies. 3. Creates and updates Village operating policies.
4. Responsible for coordinating maintenance of the facility; ensures furniture and equipment is appropriate for the needs of the Village.
5. Participates with the Board in strategic planning.
6. Supports the Board of Directors and ensures that decisions are operationally interpreted and implemented according to policy.
7. Represent the Village on appropriate committees, networks and joint projects.
8. Liaises with and support the leadership of the Village member agencies with areas of concern pertaining to the Village as well as collaborative initiatives between agencies.
9. Coordinates schedule and bookings of the Village\xe2\x80\x99s shared spaces/meeting rooms for internal use and external rentals and provides customer service to individuals and groups visiting the Village.
10. Initiates, builds relationships, and communicates with a broad range of community organizations, sectors, and donors.
11. Develops and maintains relationships with funding sources and prepare funding proposals.
12. Maintains and updates the Village website, communications, and social media presence.
13. Other duties as required. Who You Are

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree or diploma in human services, business, or related discipline or a combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading teams and groups.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing financial activities.
  • Experience working in the nonprofit sector and reporting to a Board of Directors is an asset.
  • Experience working with marginalized or vulnerable people is an asset.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
  • Strategic decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer proficiency in spreadsheets, word processing, and databases.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Must be able to work autonomously while engaging with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Flexible and adaptable to the needs of the Village agencies and the populations they serve.
  • Ability to look for opportunities and think creatively.
  • Ability to facilitate consensus and manage conflict with individuals and groups.
  • Ability to perform duties in a confidential manner.
  • Models high standards of ethics and integrity.
Position Details
  • This is a permanent full-time position of 35 hours per week, 9am \xe2\x80\x93 5pm. May include occasional evenings and/or weekends as required.
  • Salary range: $62,000 - $72,000 dependent on education and experience.
  • Benefits: Group health and dental and 5% RRSP match after 3 months.
  • The Saskatoon Community Service Village is located at 506- 25th Street E. It is a beautiful location close to the University Bridge and Kinsmen Park, with great walking trails along the river and access to downtown.
