Augustana Faculty
The Augustana Faculty of the University of Alberta enrolls approximately 1000 undergraduate students in baccalaureate degree programs on a picturesque residential campus in the city of Camrose, 90 kilometers Southeast of Edmonton. Position
This is an ATS Term position starting July 1, 2025, and ending on June 30, 2026, with the possibility of extension.
Reporting to the Manager Student Life (MSL), the Head Coach is responsible for the operations of the women's basketball program.
As a premier member of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference and Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association, and an integral part of the University of Alberta, Vikings Athletics creates a culture of excellence.
To that end, we are seeking a highly qualified coach to join our varsity athletics department and lead the women's basketball program to success in competition, the classroom, and the community.

Duties
Coaching of a varsity team in exhibition and ACAC league play
Student-athlete development planning and implementation (practice plans, skill development, team culture)
Plan and implement a team-specific integrated support program (strength and conditioning, mental skills, assistant coaches, academic support)
Team logistics management
Team budget/financial management
Fundraising and alumni relations
Student-athlete recruitment and retention
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health, Sports Administration, or related field
Applicable NCCP Basketball Train to Compete certification or equivalent
A successful background in coaching basketball
Demonstrated leadership and motivational skills
Excellent organizational and communication skills
A valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license will be required upon appointment
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in a related discipline
Demonstrated ability to connect with athletes from youth to the university level
Fundraising experience and skills
Demonstrated ability to facilitate and develop community partnerships
