DescriptionPrimary Responsibilities:

  • Build, develop and generate revenue through strategic sales strategies domestically and internationally.
  • Lead, motivate, and direct the sales team to cultivate a culture of sales success.
  • Expand, support, and oversee all existing domestic and international licensing programs.
  • Monitor direct sales costs and operate within allocated sales budget.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Develop plans and strategies to expand coverage in underdeveloped regions.
  • Evaluate and optimize sales processes and structures as needed.
  • Provide detailed sales forecasts and analysis to guide decision-making.
  • Cultivate and manage key account relationships, ensuring deliverables are met.
  • Conduct semi-annual sales meetings to review performance and set targets.
  • Implement incentive programs and training initiatives to drive retail sales growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and marketing efforts.
  • Provide market insights and feedback to inform strategic planning.
  • Mentor and train junior sales representatives for success in the role.
  • Drive sustainable growth within existing customer base while actively pursuing new opportunities.
  • Develop relationships with a targeted list of key retailers to capture licensing and manufacturing programs.
  • Seek out, negotiate, and manage new profitable licensing programs domestically and internationally, with input from the CEO, and VP of Product
  • Develop a licensing forecast, operational budget, and profit goals, and provide quarterly reviews of each.
  • Regularly monitor status of guarantees, profit, trends, and potential revenues for all existing and new licenses, and recommend changes as needed.
  • Research the domestic and international marketplace to find opportunities for licensed-related sales, product development, marketing, and promotions. This ranges from keeping current on articles in trade journals to reporting on new licensed movies a year ahead of their release in order to have product on the shelf by release time.
  • Expeditiously handle and coordinate all requests from licensors on such matters as sales information, promotions, forecasting information, and meetings.
  • Play a role in determining the licensed product needs for each season.
  • Actively participate in the planning and development of license-related marketing and communications materials.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of the brand and other functional competitors in outdoor or causal apparel.
  • Established wholesale executive with 10+ years track record of brand building and licensing.
  • Extensive industry contacts and a strong network for immediate outreach.
  • Experience in cold calling and lead generation is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a family-run business environment, demonstrating patience and adaptability to changing circumstances.
  • Onboarding process will focus on understanding the business and brands rather than job-specific training so you must come to the table with tools, ideas and leads.
