This is your opportunity to be part of our growth story.Position SummaryUnder the direction of the Director of Strategy & Performance, the Strategy & Performance Coordinator provides a wide range of support to the strategy, planning, project management and reporting functions of the department. The position is responsible for supporting the development of the corporate performance reporting system, enabling the corporate project management process (tools, monitoring, reporting), and providing internal administrative support to the Strategy & Performance team.Core Accountabilities

  • Perform a coordinating role for the County\xe2\x80\x99s priority strategic projects for: supporting the project initiation process; assisting with the development of project management tools, forms and processes; compiling and managing project documentation (e.g., charters, close-out, etc.); coordinating the monthly project reporting process.
  • For Strategy & Performance projects, develop and ensure adherence to work plans, liaise with internal and external partners and consultants, coordinate project activities and deliverables.
  • Support the development, planning, and monitoring process for the corporate Strategic Plan and Service Plan. Support the annual service plan and budget process, and establish and steward the quarterly accountability reporting process (collect and interpret data from departments, and compile the report).
  • Complete general administrative activities including but not limited to the drafting and proofreading of documents, assisting in the preparation of meetings and events, and maintaining accurate records and databases. Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with administrative staff to facilitate collaboration and retrieval of information. Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and exercise discretion when communicating cross departmentally.
  • Provide basic executive assistance to the Director of Strategy and Performance as it pertains to calendar coordination and information management.
  • Work with Communications & Engagement staff to implement communication strategies for corporate strategy and performance reporting and major projects.
  • Work in accordance with the requirements established by the RVC Health and Safety Program and the Alberta OHS Act, Regulation and Code.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Position RequirementsPost secondary education in a related fieldRelevant coursework and/or practical experience (project management, strategic planning, business administration) would be valuable.Minimum three years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in municipal government

  • Above average written and oral communication skills including the ability to appropriately gauge the needs of the situation and adapt the communication style accordingly.
  • Demonstrate confidence in advice given and complex decisions made and is able to support and justify these as required.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to frequently adapt to shifting priorities of the organization.
  • Experience and confidence in presenting in front of Council or boards would be beneficial
  • Must be concise, accurate and able to work well within the resources available.
  • Consistently meet deadlines and expectations for the Department with the resources allotted.
  • Works well with the public and demonstrates the ability to be helpful, resourceful and knowledgeable of the services available for the customer, whether internal or external which support the Departments efforts to provide customer excellence.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required (strong Excel skills would be beneficial).
  • Experience in Contract Administration would be advantageous.
  • Previous working knowledge of databases is preferred.
