  • Working together with the Brand Manager and Director - develop and support strategic direction for future growth of Private Brands
  • Lead a team of 6-8 Sourcing Program Managers - Implement and drive strategic direction for team
  • Conduct mid-year and year-end performance reviews for team members
  • Identify and qualify domestic and international vendors to the HD standards (Domestic and Import)
  • Working together with Merchant, Lead Private Brand Cost PLR initiatives from start to finish to drive cost out
  • Manage and drive sourcing programs through Asian, European and Latin American sourcing offices; responsible for developing and maintaining relationship with global sourcing offices and driving key initiatives with your team
  • Own and drive Private Brand penetration within your team's departments
  • Work together with Directors of Merchandising and Merchants to identify Private brand opportunities for your team's respective departments including US aligned and Canadian led initiatives.
  • Execute Offshelf and Online strategy with team to increase sales and margin
  • Work with US counterparts to create specifications for products including: packaging, safety and environmental issues
  • In conjunction with your US counterparts, develop and purchase products as well as materials to sell the products i.e. Packaging, P.K. materials, POP
  • Understand merchandising needs, analyze projects, specifications, and ensure compliance
  • Have excellent control on the end-to-end sourcing processes
  • Gain strong understanding of the categories and sub-categories for faultless execution of sourcing and/or private brand programs.
  • Participate in product line reviews and contribute to overall merchandising strategy.
  • Monitor and manage department programs for stock outs and excess inventory situations, communicate and take necessary actions.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining a smooth working relationship between global vendors and fulfillment/inventory group.
  • Understanding of supply chain- domestic and international
Requirements
  • 8-10 years of Industry Experience in retail with a global sourcing background preferred
  • A University Degree is preferred
  • Previous experience leading direct reports
  • Strong internal and external customer focus.
  • A solid team player, open to new learning.
  • Well organized and passionate about managing multiple projects.
  • Willing to solve problems with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional, cross-cultural setting that requires close interaction and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders globally.
  • Very strong analytical and negotiation skills - experience dealing with vendors directly.
  • University/College education.
  • Proficiency in a language other than English would be considered to be an asset.
  • Project Management experience considered an asset
  • Some international travel may be required
