VIE Operational Risk Management \xe2\x80\x93 Montreal, M/F

Your daily routine?

The candidate main responsibilities will be to liaise with the OROs GB and Functions team to support them in their risk management activities that include the following tasks:

1. Perform risk analysis of the department being supervised by looking at evolution of the activities, processes, events occurring that can have an affect the Operational risk profile

2. Perform independent testing to ensure adherence to the procedure and controls applicable to the main risks

3. Build relationship with main stakeholders in the organization to ensure transparent communication. This is key to the success of candidate in order to get appropriate information to perform risk management but also to understand the organization and the Corporate Banking Investment bank.

The working environment is important!

The candidate will be working within a team of 9 individuals covering multiples acitvities of the Bank, including all Functions. The team is located in the US and Canada and the candidate will be interacting with all members of the team.

BNP Paribas premises are located in Montreal downtown, easily accessible through public transportation.

RISK service platform in Canada ("RISK hub") was created in 2020, is both dynamic and multi-cultural, and is embedded within RISK Americas framework. RISK ORM Canada accounts for more than 20 headcounts in such a set-up.

The next steps?

The candidate during her/his day-to-day tasks will be able to build relationship with the main stakeholders in the organization, in particular the Global Banking business line being one of the 3 main activities of CIB. He or she will also interact with the various Functions supporting all businesses being Finance, Tax, Risk, Human Resources... At the end of her/his mission, she or he will have a good understanding of what are the various departments activities and be able to better identify which area of interest to pursue in his/her banking career.

Operational Risk Management has become a key function in financial industry, and allows to understand the functioning of the Bank, both transversally and strategically.

Permanent positions within the organization might be offered to the candidate provided there are such openings and provided the candidate would have performed well in his/her VIE role.

Are you our next VIE?

You have a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance, Audit or Risk.

You have a solid risk knowledge. You have gained first relevant experience (internships and work-study program included) on similar questions.

You speak fluent English and you have a very good command of MS Office Excel and Risk tools.

You demonstrate adaptability and team spirit. Your analytical ability, your organization and your results orientation will be assets to progress on this mission.
