Your role
We are looking for a Video Operator at our Regina station for Radio-Canada Saskatchewan. The person will be responsible for carrying out the tasks of a production specialist, and who, through their creativity, will contribute to the programming by innovating with distinctive visual effects, while taking into account time constraints and the importance of the program. The successful candidate must have good photography skills, make a significant contribution to the content and be bilingual (English-French). The person will work mainly for the news and current affairs sectors. The chosen person will work according to the accepted standards of CBC/Radio-Canada or the industry, but will also have the latitude to act independently, exercise judgment and take initiatives. The tasks are carried out under the direction of the program manager or other employees, but the incumbent may be called upon to work without immediate supervision. The work is usually carried out within the established formats of the program and normally under high pressure.
Key responsibilities:Participate in all stages of planning, production and dressing of programs. Edit news programs and reports. Create and add new visual elements. Create, edit and mix new audio elements. Add effects to images, texts and fonts by selecting and applying visual effects obtained from software or computer equipment. Prepare, adjust and set up field cameras to ensure optimal visual and technical quality, given the circumstances. Light the subject or scene, compose and record the broadcast material using a shoulder-mounted camera or other video devices. Ensure that the visual and audio elements comply with the technical and aesthetic requirements for editing. Produce all recorded elements, including shooting plan lists. In the field, perform basic maintenance of the equipment. Taking photos for our digital platforms.

Depending on assignments or requirements, the incumbent may be called upon to perform the following tasks:Ask prepared questions to the people filmed. Contribute to social networks. Production of reports in collaboration with other team members or independently. Radio broadcasting. Provide technical assistance to Telejournal Saskatchewan. Depending on your skills, participate in the production of infographic content.

Desired profile:
Objective criteria:Technical knowledge and understanding of digital production methods and production of daily television programs. Understanding of image composition and lighting with a single camera This knowledge is usually acquired after studies in a community college successfully completed in the field of television arts or equivalent experience in the industry Six (6) months to a year of specialized experience in the field of news and outdoor broadcasting Knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada's journalistic standards and practices Excellent knowledge of the following camera models: Sony PDW-750, Sony A7sii, Sony A7siii, A7Riv, A6600, Sony FX6, Sony F9, Nikon D750, Canon 5D, GoPro Ability to edit recorded elements using appropriate or available editing systems, such as Avid Media Composer, Avid Newscutter, AppleiMovie, Final Cut Pro, vMix or Adobe Premiere Pro, an asset Excellent command of the working language: French (French working environment) Intermediate level skills in speaking, writing and reading English (BBB) Valid driver's licence Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends and also to frequently work many additional hours unexpectedly
