Video Editor (Part-Time or Contract)

Big White Ski Resort is seeking a creative & flexible Video Editor to join our Marketing team on a part-time or contract basis. This role is perfect for a visual storyteller who loves winter sports, mountain culture, outdoor adventure, and conveying the authentic energy of one of Canada's top ski destinations.

About the Role

As our Video Editor, you'll help bring the Big White experience to life across digital platforms. Using existing content from our library and using raw footage from our roster of content creators, you will create polished, dynamic videos for social media, advertising, resort messaging, event promotion, and seasonal campaigns. This is an ideal position for a freelancer or part-time creator seeking work with a high-profile BC tourism brand.

Responsibilities

Edit video content for social media, digital advertising and website purposes. Organize, manage, and maintain footage, media assets, and project files. Develop and incorporate branding elements, lower thirds, captions, graphics, and motion assets. Optimize videos for multiple platforms (Reels, TikTok, YouTube, Meta, web, etc). Collaborate closely with the Marketing team on briefs, storytelling direction, and turnaround needs. Assist with simple motion graphics, colour correction, audio cleanup, and format exports. Maintain a consistent visual style aligned with Big White's brand and seasonal campaigns. Occasionally cut same-day or next-day content for time-sensitive needs (events, powder days, promos).

Qualifications

Proven experience as a video editor, ideally in tourism, outdoor recreation, hospitality, or sports. Strong proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro (After Effects an asset). Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and adapt quickly to evolving content needs. Strong sense of pacing, music selection, and visual storytelling. Experience editing vertical, fast-paced social content is a major asset. Ability to follow brand guidelines and deliver polished, professional final outputs. Bonus skills: drone footage editing, motion graphics, videography, animation, or colour grading.

Contract / Compensation

Part-time or contract arrangement, depending on candidate. Workload varies seasonally, with heavier demand during winter and summer resort operational periods. Remote work possible with occasional on-mountain visits preferred but not required.

Wage

* $25-28/hour depending upon experience
