Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in delivering high-quality care to animals. You will work in a fast-paced environment where your skills and expertise will directly contribute to the health and well-being of our patients.

We are looking for a veterinary technician/RVT with availability from 8am-midnight, including 2-3 weekends per month. Wage compensation varies based on OAVT registration and experience level.

Duties

Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Perform laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis. Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed. Monitor animal patients before, during, and after procedures. Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient. Provide client education on pet care, nutrition, and preventive health measures. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic or hospital environment. Handle animal restraint safely and effectively during examinations or treatments.

Qualifications

Completion of an accredited veterinary technician program is required. Registration with OAVT is an asset. Experience in a veterinary setting is REQUIRED. Strong laboratory skills, with the ability to perform diagnostic tests accurately. Excellent communication skills for interacting with clients and team members. Compassionate demeanor towards animals and their owners. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while managing multiple tasks.
