Tasks

Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery Produce diagnostic radiographs Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian Counsel clients on animal health care Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals Provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia
