Royal Oak Pet Clinic is seeking a Full-Time Receptionist / Veterinary Assistant to join our team. We are a local, privately owned, full-service, small animal veterinary practice in Victoria, BC. Candidates should have a professional attitude and be able to work well as part of a team or individually. Experience in customer service and previous animal handling is preferred.

As a Veterinary Receptionist / Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our clients and their beloved pets. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional customer service and ensure a positive experience for both clients and their furry friends.

Responsibilities will include:

- Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanor

- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage the appointment calendar

- Check-in patients, update client information, and verify insurance coverage

- Collect payments for services rendered and provide accurate receipts

- Assist with maintaining patient records

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area, with light housekeeping duties.

- Ensure a positive experience for both clients and patients within our hospital

Required Skills:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues

- Proficient in using computer systems for scheduling appointments, managing records, and processing payments

- Animal handling experience

We offer a competitive wage (based on experience).

This position requires working:

4 x 10 hour shifts Day shift Monday to Friday Weekends as needed
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
