Job Description

Our growing Veterinary Hospital is looking for an additional compassionate and positive-natured individual to long term Veterinary Office Assistant position. Shifts would include weekdays and weekends, with the majority consisting of afternoons, evenings. With a continuing goal of enhancing our client and patient care strategies, 186 St. Animal Hospital is looking for candidates with key qualities for this position.

Requirements:



Reception Desk Skills Team player but also a self starter Telephone and communication skills Reliable commute Flexibility in scheduling and availability Basic computer skills with capability to learn new software Physical capability of safely lifting 20kg safely Compassion for animals and people, safe animal handling Multitasking Skills A whole lot of willingness to clean!

Preferred Experience:



Over the counter sales Appointment and patient/client data management Animal handling and/or routine care experience Customer Service Experience Organization Skills | Office Skills
This position involves frequently assisting Veterinarians and colleagues in performing various veterinary related procedures, including but not limited to

Blood collection Animal handling Surgical monitoring assistance X-rays Supervised medication administration Equipment handling and maintenance in safe and ethical manner
A full scope of the position will be discussed and explained to potential candidates before final hiring. Previous experience in animal handling and care would be an asset, but individuals who are looking for a career in Veterinary / animal care profession will be fully supported to train and excel.
