Job Description

King Animal Hospital is seeking a Board-Certified or Board eligible Small Animal Dermatologist to join our multi-disciplinary team!

You will join our existing Dermatology Centre of Excellence which includes two senior and esteemed Dermatologists with a full and diverse caseload. You will also have the support of strong team of experienced Registered Veterinary Technicians, Animal Care Attendants and Client Services Representatives.

King Animal Hospital is a new

privately owned

60,000 sq ft Equine and Small Animal Muli-Specialty Referral & Emergency Services Hospital located on fifty acres in King City, Ontario, Canada just minutes to downtown Toronto.

The hospital is 60,000 square feet and features a large area dedicated to our dermatology service, eight operating rooms, twelve exam rooms, in house lab and pharmacy, two x-ray rooms, an intensive care unit (ICU), rehabilitation centre, a large learning centre for knowledge exchange, corporate gym and more. We have three further phases started to expand our services.

The Team



You will join a dynamic and collaborative multi-disciplinary team comprising approximately 180 staff members. This team includes Board-Certified Specialists in Small Animal Orthopedic Surgery, Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery, Equine Surgery, Internal Medicine, Critical Care, Neurology/Neurosurgery, Anesthesia, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Emergency Services, and Rehabilitation.

Diagnostics & Equipment



At King Animal Hospital, we pride ourselves on utilizing advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to provide the best possible care.

Our diagnostic capabilities include but are not limited to: a 3T MRI (GE) for small animal patients, a 1.5 MRI (Siemens) for equine patients, CT-Scan with a robotic arm for equine (Universal Medical System), CT scan for small animal (GE128 slice), Scintigraphy, C-arm, Fluoroscopy, ultrasound, digital radiography, high flow oxygen and mechanical ventilation, ECG, laser, and hyperbaric chamber for wound healing.

In the Dermatology department you will have access to VetScalpel CO2 Laser, two video-otoendoscopes and three Phovia blue light LED lamps for FLE therapy.

The rehabilitation center includes three canine hydrotherapy treadmills, a regular canine treadmill, an equine hydrotherapy treadmill, a canine rehabilitation pool, laser therapy (Companion Class IV), a 6000-square-foot indoor equine ring, and a hyperbaric chamber (Sechrist Veterinary)

About You & How to Apply



Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution. Completion of a residency in veterinary dermatology or equivalent experience. Board certification or eligibility for certification by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) is preferred. Strong laboratory experience is highly desirable for effective diagnosis and treatment planning. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. A compassionate approach towards animals and their owners, demonstrating empathy in all interactions. Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while managing individual responsibilities effectively.
