Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to provide support in our veterinary practice for a minimum of 4 weeks while a team member is on sick leave. Preference will be given to applicants with prior veterinary and/or laboratory experience, and who are able to start work immediately. The successful candidate will support veterinarians and team members in providing exceptional care to animals and clients. Duties

Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgeries Preparing and sterilising surgical instruments and equipment Restraining animals safely during procedures and examinations Administering medications as directed by the veterinarian Collecting samples for laboratory testing and maintaining accurate records Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards Providing compassionate care and reassurance to animal patients and their owners Managing appointment schedules and assisting with client communication as needed

Experience

Previous veterinary experience is strongly desirable; training will be provided for the right candidate Laboratory experience is considered an advantage but is not mandatory Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively Compassionate attitude towards animals and their owners Ability to learn quickly and work well within a team in a fast-paced environment

Job Types: Full-time, Casual

Pay: $18.00-$25.72 per hour

Expected hours: 32 - 40 per week
