The Veterinary Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in our clinic, ensuring the well-being of animals through daily interactions and tasks.

This position involves a mix of hands-on care and administrative support, requiring dedication, compassion, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist veterinarians during exams and procedures.

- Prepare animals for treatment by restraining them when necessary.

- Maintain accurate medical records and update client information.

- Interact with clients to explain treatments and answer questions.

- Support surgical procedures and administer medications under supervision.

- Ensure a clean and safe environment by cleaning exam rooms and equipment.

- Stock and organize medical supplies, restocking as needed.

- Perform other duties assigned by the veterinarian or practice manager.

Qualifications

:

- High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED).

- Previous experience with animals, either through work or volunteering (Preferred).

- Strong communication skills for client interaction.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy setting.

- Training in animal care is an asset but not required.

Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift and move animals safely.

- Standing for extended periods is common.

Work Environment:

- Busy clinic atmosphere, especially during peak hours.

- Potential exposure to bites and scratches; protective gear provided as needed.

Pay: $18.00-$20.81 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
