Job Description


Shelburne Animal Hospital, located in Shelburne, Ontario, is seeking a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our team on a part-time basis.Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal with all types of clients
  • Fluent in both written and spoken English
  • Comfortable restraining both dogs and cats for procedures (e.g., blood collection, medical treatments, radiographs)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a small animal clinic (6 months or higher)
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Experience with AVImark is an asset
  • Veterinary Assistant Program Certificate, Veterinary Support Assistant, Veterinary Technician Diploma, Animal Health Technologist, or other relevant animal education certificates/diplomas
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily reception tasks, including scheduling appointments, checking in and out clients/patients, and responding to phone calls, faxes, and emails
  • Prepare for and assist with procedures/surgeries
  • Treat and monitor in-house patients
  • Maintain and clean the hospital daily including stocking and order supplies as needed
  • Open and close the hospital
  • Other day-to-day tasks
