Veterinary Assistant/receptionist
Job Description
Bucksburn Veterinary Hospital, located in east Oakville, recently moved into a brand-new facility with a small, dedicated, and experienced team. We aim to provide high quality medicine while maintaining excellent client service and compassionate animal care. We are seeking a part-time or full-time experienced veterinary assistant to join our growing team. Duties include assisting the veterinarian in animal handling and restraint, animal care, client communication, patient check-in and check-out, scheduling appointments, processing transactions, and facility cleaning. Hours for this position are Monday to Friday afternoons with shifts ending at 6:30pm, and two out of every four Saturdays 8am-12pm. Total hours per week may be tailored to the preferences and needs of the chosen candidate. Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma (completion of an Animal Care Program preferred)
- At least 1 year of veterinary experience
- Strong ability to multitask effectively under pressure
- Comfort and competence in animal restraint
