About Us

Steeples Veterinary Clinic is an independently owned mixed-animal practice that has proudly served Cranbrook and the East Kootenays since 1978. Our long-standing reputation is built on compassionate care, community involvement, and a collaborative, supportive team environment. We are a busy, modern practice with a recently renovated facility and a strong focus on both medical excellence and work-life balance.

Our clinic has a diverse caseload that includes small animals, equine, bovine, other farm or exotic animals. The closest 24-hour emergency hospital is four hours away, so we see an interesting range of cases and provide a wide scope of in-clinic care.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a

Veterinarian

to join our team for a

6-month maternity leave position starting February 2026

, with the potential to transition into a

permanent full-time role

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality medical, surgical, and preventive care to companion animals (and large animal or equine cases if interested) Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients to build trust and ensure the best outcomes for their pets Collaborate with fellow veterinarians, RVTs, and support staff in a respectful, team-oriented environment Maintain accurate medical records and uphold clinic standards of care Participate in rotating after-hours emergency coverage shared among local clinics

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) and eligibility for licensure in British Columbia Strong communication and teamwork skills Commitment to providing compassionate, client-focused care Mixed-animal experience or interest considered an asset, but not required
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Pay: $100,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
