Responsibilities

The Vascular Diagnostic Specialist works independently in managing a multi source referral base and judiciously applies clinical experience, anatomical and physiological knowledge and an extensive range of diagnostic techniques to conduct assessments of the vascular system and its associated pathological states. Utilizing an understanding of the anatomy and physiology of the human vascular system, applies hands-on techniques and investigative modalities to diagnose the absences or presences of vascular disease, its location and severity. The duties also includes collaboration with the team related to patient bookings, including prioritization of studies based on review of patient history and symptoms related to consultations. Composition, as the study proceeds, and after reviewing findings, including all data and final interpretation/diagnosis. Daily direct interaction with medical staff in relating/reporting findings; and with patients with varying degrees of pathology and family members as studies are conducted.

Qualifications

  • Current (or eligibility) for registration Sonography Canada required.
  • Canadian Association of Registered Diagnostic Ultrasound Professionals (CARDUP) in Vascular Sonography - CRVS (Canadian Registered Vascular Sonographer)/other equivalent education, and certification may be considered.
  • Active membership with the CSDMS
  • Current CPR - BLS ( C ) certification
  • Minimum of one year clinical experience preferred
  • Experience in a tertiary care setting an asset
  • Experience as a preceptor an asset
  • Experience with Philips IU22, Epiq 5, an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with databases and associated software applications.
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Hours of Work
  • Full Time (100%) Long Assignment position; 75 hours bi-weekly

Salary Information

$33.23 - $41.75 hourly
