We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Repair Technician to join our dynamic team within

The purpose of this Tech Level 3 position is to provide expert repair techniques and upholstery services across both automotive interiors and furniture, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship, durability, and aesthetic enhancement. The Upholsterer applies advanced technical skills to repair, restore, and customize leather, vinyl, fabric, and specialty textiles while maintaining a focus on precision, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role supports both company's commitment to excellence by delivering consistent, professional results that exceed client expectations of the position and clients.

The Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of upholstery and interior restoration tasks, requiring confidence and proven experience in all levels of repair. This includes vehicle assembly and disassembly, plastic trim restoration, foam shaping and modification, sewing, and detailed finishing. The role involves close collaboration with customer service/front-end staff, sewing teams, and shop management to ensure a seamless workflow from vehicle or furniture intake to final customer delivery. Success in this role depends on strong craftsmanship, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency.

Experience

/Duties

:

Perform repairs on various types of Furniture and Interiors ensuring product satisfaction and quality. Conduct routineevluations to identify potential problems before they escalate. Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and service history. Collaborate with team members to improve repair processes and efficiency. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations. Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and technologies relevant to repair techniques. Perform advanced upholstery repairs and installations for automotive interiors, including seats, headliners, door panels, dashboards, and consoles. Restore, repair furniture (residential and commercial), including sofas, chairs, cushions, and specialty items. Diagnose upholstery defects and develop creative, durable repair solutions. Work with leather, vinyl, fabric, and foam to achieve factory-quality or custom results. Install leather and vinyl repair kits, and complete custom-fit upholstery modifications as needed. Match colors, textures, and patterns to maintain aesthetic integrity. Collaborate with team members, dealerships, body shops, and private clients to meet deadlines and exceed quality expectations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workshop environment. Repair and restore vinyl, plastic, leather, fabric, and foam- Sofa Chairs Proven upholstery experience, auto upholstery preferred Proven experience managing daily operations in a workshop in related business. Demonstrated aptitude for systems thinking and reverse engineering Strong mechanical intuition with hands-on experience in system reconstruction Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in both automotive interior upholstery and furniture repair. Advanced skills in sewing, foam cutting/shaping, and material installation. Demonstrated ability to work with leather, vinyl, fabric, and specialty textiles. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to deliver high-quality custom or restoration work.

Experience in upholstery, restoration, or mechanical repair Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in various work settings Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship Proficiency with upholstery tools and hand tools (asset) Valid driver's license and clean driving abstract Flexibility to work standard hours (8-5, Mon-Fri) with occasional evenings/weekends Perform upholstery work, plastic welding, and redyeing techniques- Dash /Door pannels Use tools and repair systems provided by C.R. Techniques Communicate with clients and ensure their expectations are met Travel to project sites across Alberta (with some out-of-town assignments) Proven experience as a Repair Technician or in a similar role is preferred. Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components, and troubleshooting techniques. Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair equipment. Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Good communication skills for effective interaction with clients and team members. Advanced applicable experience and background in relevant technical fields is a plus but not required. Pay: $26.00-$37.07 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
