Your Opportunity:

The Unit Manager for Pediatric Level 1 Operating Room is expected to provide leadership in the delivery of quality patient care by assisting with the day to day management and providing clinical leadership in the Pediatric OR - Operative Services Level 1. This expectation is achieved by working with the Patient Care Manager, Unit Managers, Manager CS-SPD and OR Supplies, and OR Team Leaders.

Description:

Responsibilities include identifying budget requirements for labour, supply and equipment resources and monitoring expenditures. Facilitates the delivery of effective efficient and safe patient care; participates in the development of clinical standards and ensures adherence to same; visible in clinical areas to provide support to staff professionally and personally. In accordance with collective agreements, departmental and Alberta Health Services policies and procedures, appropriately schedules staff; manages the hiring, promotion and transfer process including the development of Position Descriptions and Position Postings in collaboration with Human Resources; assumes lead responsibility for performance management; and participates in the grievance/arbitration process. Provide collaborative support to the Operative Services level 1 department. Promotes and facilitates the development of staff in collaboration with the Clinical Educators.
