Eurofins Cosmetic Testing
Eurofins is searching for a Business Unit Manager to lead the Cosmetic Testing division. Business Unit Manager Profile: The Business Unit Manager receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to the President for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and has the authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position and to identify the occurrence of departures from the quality system or from the procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, so long as such action does not deviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with sound technical and business judgment, and follows the practices of the laboratory. Overall Objectives and Responsibilities:

  • Foster revenue growth from testing services aligning and supporting sales and laboratories
  • North America expert of global Eurofins portfolio of tests and services for cosmetics, personal products, cosmeceuticals and over-the-counter drug
  • Work closely with local laboratory and select others to intelligently expand test portfolio to meet customer needs
  • Provide technical support to clients, sales and business development to win business opportunities
  • Support the creation and implementation of marketing content (webinars, website, brochures, technical bulletins for North American market regulations, etc.) to increase inbound lead generations
  • Represent Eurofins in technical committees and industry associations to keep up to date on requirements and update customers and labs with the latest changes
  • Assist global labs on interpretations of responsible product segment market regulations
  • Track North American market laws, standards and regulations of responsible product segment and provide the local laboratory updates on testing requirements
  • Support generations of test plans, protocols, quotes
  • Developing growth strategies and plans with close collaboration with team by bringing technical insight on upcoming regulations, new testing requirements and techniques and industry knowledge
  • Engage with regulatory authorities as needed
  • Train sales to efficiently sell services, qualify leads, identify and engage target accounts
  • Utilizes CRM tool and other system to increase process efficiencies
  • Other duties as assigned.
Primary Accountability
  • Achieve or exceed Budget Net Sales and Budget EBITA.
Reporting Relationships REPORTS TO: President of the Business Unit POSITIONS REPORTING TO BUSINESS UNIT MANAGER: Laboratory Supervisor/Department Head

Qualifications
Desired Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience in product testing, development, compliance and Quality Control with focus on chemical and physical properties
  • Master’s degree in chemistry or equivalent combined education and experience
  • Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025, GLP, cGMP standards for reporting analytical results
  • Knowledge of regulatory framework to assist in consultation for the pathways in meeting the regulations of Health Canada, US FDA and US EPA
  • Experience in testing for profound knowledge of the key regulations for cosmetics and personal care products
  • Experience with chemical legislation and chemical risk management
  • Understanding of the C&PC industry value chain
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-starter, independent, pragmatic
  • Commercial acumen and ability to effectively build trust and relationship with customers and colleagues
  • Flexibility, ability to learn new skills and work in dynamic environments
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer programs and reporting systems

  • Must speak and write English fluently;
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in order to present responses to clients, prepare reports, and maintain communication with internal and external clients;
  • Must be articulate;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work independently, while supporting a collaborative, team-based department;
  • Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure;
  • High level of professionalism, maturity, good judgment, and discretion when dealing in confidential matters;
  • Must be proactive, self-disciplined, and able to demonstrate a high level of productivity with a goal-oriented approach.
Technical Skills
  • Exceptional computer skills with a high level of competence with MS Office.
