What will you do in this role?

  • Review and assess mortgage loan applications under an asset secured model
  • Assess and evaluate risks on a project-by-project basis, structure financing terms, and recommend deal improvements.
  • Make key business recommendations and take part in preparation of reporting packages to senior management.
  • Have and maintain a continued awareness of local economic indicators and conditions.
  • Receive and review incoming loan application requests and supporting documentation delivered through managed electronic lending portals, queues or other avenues of receipt.
  • Daily monitoring of credit availability and interest rates for all loan facilities.
  • Monthly reporting to multiple financial institutions, including compliance certificates, margin reporting and other items as required.
  • Preparation of loan draw requests through coordination with third parties and internal teams, as required, to meet funding conditions as indicated in Commitment Letters.
  • Preparation, on-going tracking, and stakeholder management of Letter of Credit issues.
  • Preparation and analysis of requests for financing proposals in support of new loan requests, which include but are not limited to, commercial property mortgages, new commercial development projects, new housing development projects and land servicing development projects.
  • Create and maintain project development pro-formas for future loan reporting and draw requests.
  • Perform sensitivity analysis with respect to options for financing structures.
  • Financial analysis & due diligence with respect to investment & divestment of real estate assets & liabilities.
What do we look for?
  • Completion of a university degree in finance or economics.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel, including VBA and/or data modelling.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI is an asset.
  • RECA Mortgage Broker License is an asset.
  • Strong ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deliver on strict timelines.
  • Capable to work with type A personalities that are result-oriented.
  • Team-oriented with excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in composing and proofing written materials.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
