Position Description: Reporting to Senior Vice President, Investments, the successful candidate will fill the full-time position of Analyst, Real Estate in Toronto. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the acquisition and disposition of a wide range of core, development, and value-add investments in major Canadian cities. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist in the development, interpretation, and communication of financial models underpinning new and existing land acquisitions related to future development and construction projects
  • Support the preparation of valuation models for ground-up development projects or repositioning of existing properties (including working with a cross-functional team to compile and analyze operational assumptions, development costs, market research, risk & returns analysis and other topics as required to develop a strong business case for each proposed project)
  • Provide key strategic insights through the use of quantitative and qualitative data (on a location and market-level basis) to inform land acquisitions, development, and project repositioning
  • Improve upon current, and develop new, tools and templates to streamline and standardize the project evaluation process
  • Present findings in clear, compelling, and professional presentations to internal and external stakeholders, detailing development feasibility, opportunities, risks, etc.
  • Actively track and report on the progress, timing, and updates on all pipeline projects
  • Participate in various internal development and investment related meetings
  • Provide a wide-range of financial and real estate focused analytical support as required to support the Investments platform
  • Generate various analyses, reports, and presentations for senior management and other various stakeholders (board of directors, partners, consultants, etc.) to support strategic decision making
Requirements Key Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate is highly organized with a keen eye for detail, strong financial acumen, a high level of business maturity and solid decision-making skills
  • University degree in architecture, planning, real-estate development, or business / finance with a real estate emphasis
  • The ideal individual will possess 3 years of varied real estate experience
  • Experience in preparing detailed and professional investment recommendation presentations / reports.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills.
  • Must be self-starter, a strategic thinker and have a service-oriented attitude that will encourage continuous improvement of service and performance.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with an outstanding level of integrity that will gain the trust and respect of staff and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to effectively prioritize in a demanding, high paced environment.
  • Ability to formally articulate and present data as requested.

Location & Travel: The position will be based out of the Toronto office. Fengate offers a Work-Flex policy where employees are allowed to work remotely up to 3 days per week.
