Summary
Deckhand shall support the Master in every way possible to provide safe and efficient deck operations.
The Deckhand must have the following qualifications and/or experience:
Mandatory certificates of competency as per the vessel's Safe Manning Document issued by Transport Canada
Medical fitness
FOODSAFE certificate
Suitable experience.
In addition to reporting to the vessel's Master and Mate, this individual participates as a member of the Shipboard Emergency Response Team and shall include, but not limited to:
Participating in checklists prior to commencing work
Preparing meals for crew;
Completing periodic inspections of equipment and reporting results;
General Seamanship Techniques required to maintain the daily vessel operations;
Preparing the vessel for barge operations;
Tying up and untying vessels and barges;
Reporting damage to equipment;
Reporting deficiencies in equipment;
Serving as a look out;
Daily housekeeping of vessel;
Completing vessel inventories, equipment and stores.

Pay: $7,000.00-$8,500.00 per month
