Job description Reporting to the Design Manager, this position is responsible for translating sales orders into accurate shop drawings & maintaining design integrity within an appropriate time frame to include shop production and to meet the customer\xe2\x80\x99s delivery requirements. Must be located in Winnipeg and report to Winnipeg Office for Work Responsibilities: \xc2\xb7 Maintain a positive relationship with all staff using good communication skills. \xc2\xb7 Attend regularly scheduled design meetings so as to stay informed with the department and contribute to discussions about its processes and direction. \xc2\xb7 Read, analyze and transfer information received from Sales Department into various MiTek or other design programs to produce truss layouts and engineered drawings for simple residential, commercial or farm projects. \xc2\xb7 Enter accurate and complete information into Sapphire program so as to produce proper shop work orders. \xc2\xb7 Communicate with Sales and Customer to secure approved design and, once received, ensure work orders are forwarded in a timely fashion. \xc2\xb7 Communicate as required with, Sales Reps, Building Officials and Customers to resolve any design concerns. \xc2\xb7 Respond to inquiries from Sales Representative. \xc2\xb7 Complete and submit reports (i.e. Site Issue reports, etc.). \xc2\xb7 Continually look for new and better ways of servicing our customers. \xc2\xb7 Assume other duties as assigned by the Design Manager. Qualifications: \xc2\xb7 Architectural Technologist, Building Construction Technologist Diploma, Civil Engineering Diploma or equivalents. \xc2\xb7 Manufacturing technology, related to wood trusses, engineered floor systems and building manufacturing. \xc2\xb7 Computer skills including Microsoft Office. \xc2\xb7 Proficient in the use of drafting software. \xc2\xb7 Knowledge of MiTek Sapphire and Engineering software is considered an asset. \xc2\xb7 Strong mathematical skills with a high degree of accuracy. \xc2\xb7 Ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints. \xc2\xb7 3D Visualization skills. \xc2\xb7 Basic engineering design and principals. \xc2\xb7 Ability to communicate both written and verbally in a professional and effective manner. \xc2\xb7 Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects. \xc2\xb7 Effective time management skills to ensure deadlines are met.
