G2 also provides the back-office support including accounting, payroll and benefits, human resources, information technology, and strategic planning support.
We are looking to add a Truck & Transport Mechanic to our team within the Brad\'s Towing division.
Brad\xe2\x80\x99s Towing started in 2001 with only a 1996 F450 and Century wrecker. Since our humble beginnings, we have expanded to also provide services with deck trucks, tractor trailers, semi towing and recovery with a fleet of over 40 pieces of equipment. We also offer specialty services and equipment such as air cushions, winch skids, and animal transfers. We pride ourselves on our reputation for dependable and reliable service. As a Truck & Transport Mechanic, you will:
  • Maintain company\xe2\x80\x99s fleet of vehicles, performing routine and preventive maintenance including oil changes and tune-ups
  • Inspect various parts of vehicles, including brake systems, wheel bearings and steering mechanisms to ensure they are in the proper condition to operate effectively
  • Use different tools and equipment, such as pressure gauges, pneumatic wrenches, welding equipment, screwdrivers, hoists and jacks, to repair vehicles while constantly utilizing safety precautions
  • Examine critical parts and systems using a standard checklist
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning parts and systems such as brake pads, belts, water pumps, transmissions, and other mechanical parts
  • Diagnose malfunctions in defective equipment by inspecting and testing using devices such as scan tools, handheld computers, and chassis charts to determine how to address problems.
  • Diagnose and repair wiring and electrical malfunctions on equipment
  • Test drive vehicles to ensure they are running properly and to find issues to determine what the solution will be
  • Ensure parts conform to factory specifications by inspecting and verifying clearances and dimensions
  • Plan and establish timetable to complete repairs and maintenance
  • Communicate with the Operations Manager to coordinate maintenance priorities and to order parts and equipment as necessary
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

The right person:
  • Is a Journeyman Truck and Transport Mechanic
  • Preferably has a minimum of five years of related experience
  • Enjoys and is able to work independently
  • Has extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle repair
  • Has excellent mechanical repair skills
  • Exhibits excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Has a positive and proactive attitude towards teamwork and safety
  • Must have appropriate tools to complete jobs
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times
  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
  • Is able to work in a team environment and react to urgent operational needs
