Job Description

We are a marine supply company seeking an experienced 5 ton driver to assist with deliveries throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Port of Vancouver. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest standards of vehicle operation and cargo handling

This is a full time permanent position. Hours are Monday to Friday 0800 -1630 with available overtime

We do direct deposit, biweekly pay, and also provide extended health benefits after 3 months

Duties

- Safely and efficiently operate a commercial truck to transport goods and materials to designated locations
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Plan routes and follow delivery schedules to ensure timely deliveries
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure its safety and functionality
- Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and other drivers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues that may arise
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and other relevant information

Skills:

- Proficient in operating commercial trucks and adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
- Knowledge of freight handling techniques and procedures
- Basic automotive repair skills to perform minor maintenance tasks on the truck as needed
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with dispatchers, customers, and fellow drivers

Please note that this position requires a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record. Prior experience in truck driving or related fields is preferred.
